Let's do it!  You're going to love planning your next escape.

Over the years, I’ve learned the hard way what’s essential and what can stay home when it comes to travel. From leading a retreat to exploring a new city or hopping on a weekend getaway, these five items are always in my bag—and honestly, they’ve saved me more than once. If you’re planning a trip (or dreaming of one), these are the travel companions I recommend every single time.

  1. Packing Cubes (The Unsung Heroes of Sanity) I know, I know. Everyone talks about them. But for good reason! Packing cubes help keep my outfits organized, it’s like a drawers in your suitcase. They keep dirty clothes separate, and the whole suitcase from turning into a tossed salad.
These are my favorite ones on Amazon — lightweight, durable, and so satisfying to use.
  2. Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Long flights, noisy hotel neighbors, or just a moment of peace while journaling—noise-cancelling headphones are a game changer. They help me create a little pocket of calm, no matter where I am.
I use these ones and swear by them for both travel and work.
  3. A Journal (for Notes, Dreams & Deep Thoughts)
There’s something about being away from home that opens the mind. I always bring a journal for notes, reflections, and the occasional retreat planning idea that hits mid-latte.
This one is compact, beautiful, and fits perfectly in a carry-on.
  4. A Multi-Use Shawl or Wrap
Cold plane? Instant blanket. Need to dress up a basic outfit? Done. Visiting a sacred space? Shoulder coverage sorted. A shawl is my ultimate travel chameleon.
Here’s one that travels beautifully and comes in tons of colors.
  5. Portable Charger
This one’s a no-brainer, but I can’t count how many times my portable charger saved the day—especially when I’m navigating a new city or taking a million photos.
This one has fast charging and multiple ports.

Final Thoughts:
Packing light doesn’t mean you have to leave the good stuff behind. These five items help me travel smarter, feel more grounded, and stay focused on what really matters—making memories.
