Your retreat leader might have everything covered—but it never hurts to come prepared. This go-to essentials list is designed to help you feel confident, comfortable, and fully present for the experience ahead. From smart staples to little luxuries, these travel-tested picks make packing easy so you can focus on the magic.

Moisturizing Travel Kit —
Long flights dry you out. To save your glow we opt out of make-up for a hydrating moisture mask. Clinique has a great travel size that will fit in your liquid bag carry-on.
Packing Cubes
Keep your suitcase zen, not chaotic. There are so many to love and we’re linking two of our favorite brands. Compass Rose by Travel Fashion Girl and Tripped by two of our favorite Youtubers Tim and Fin.

Packable Rain Jacket

Amsterdam in May, Iceland in June = all four seasons. This stylish rain jacket comes in many colors and lined in beautiful plaids. Its lightweight, easy to pack, covers all the bases of keeping you stylish and dry with – Pockets, Hood, Cinch Waist and it’s on the TikTok Shop

Portable Charger
There are so many portable chargers out there these days to keep everything charged for long flights or drives, morning or night, on or off grid. We’ve traveled for years with the same Anker brand. Here is the newest.
Backpack with Wheels
Our favorite carry on is a backpack that can ride on your bigger carry-on bag, roll on its own when you’ve checked your bigger carry-on or easily be carried on your back if you have to climb the stairs onto the plane. The Detour by Samsonite is the real winner. With it’s double telescoping aluminum bars on the handle it doesn’t flip when pulling like Kelly’s favorite, the Jansport. Because when you have to have cute, it covers all the other basics. Both will save your back and shoulders when navigating humungous airports. It really can make or break your trip says Kelly, “My Jansport always carries a change of clothes, flipflops, meds, paperwork, any/all valuables and electronics. “I still have room for my jacket, umbrella, travel art kit, water bottle, plus room to stuff in my hip bag if necessary!” Then it’s carried home some of my most valued treasures.

Good Walking Shoes
Icelandic terrain? Southeast Asian temples? High Atlas Mountains? Mile long airports? We cannot say enough about our top pick the Sketchers slip ons mainly for ease in airports and on long flights. Yet capsule wardrobe packers know we must have versatility if we are only bringing 2-3 pairs of shoes, these shoes will carry you all throughout your trip. We have to list our other two favorites. The Vionic Bella Bow Sandal supports your foot yet is lightweight and perfect for your backpack. You can walk miles in these yet they’ll work at the pool, with a cute dress, or as my our favorite, as room shoes or even shower sandals. Plus you can dry them off and pack them immediately! The Naot are our favorite touring sandals. Lightweight and can handle any cobblestone you throw at them. On the hottest days your feet will be cool and cute while being uber comfortable.

Lightweight Travel Yoga Mat

Unroll your calm wherever you land. These lightweight foldable yoga mats by Gaiam should really be called travel mats. Yes, they’re perfect for their intended use but we’ve found ourselves laying them out for something to sit or lie on whenever the need arose! That and the perfect travel scarf work perfect as a makeshift bed if you ever find yourself stranded at the airport.
Crossbody Bag
We like our crossbody bags to be versatile. Big enough for our phone, sunglasses, keys, lippies++ but small enough to smash into our backpack or under our jacket. It’s a tall order and truly most cross body bags are fine. We do like the Lululemon Bag for its color options, washability (toss it in the washer) its back zippered pocket and it’s simple yet there, inside compartments. A light or bright one makes it easy to keep your eye on. We also do love this Etronik set that comes with a cross body bag!

Journal & Pen
Our phone notes app just doesn’t hit like a journal and pen. Jotting down your thoughts can be a meditative practice during times of stress and let’s face it, travel is stressful! This journal is tough enough to take traveling, journaling, painting and last a lifetime.
